This project is part of an ongoing personal UI study series where I explore various interface modules across different platforms and genres. The goal is to stay creatively active while experimenting with new design challenges. In this first installment, I focused on two key modules from a fantasy-themed mobile strategy game: Character Upgrade and Shop.
The world imagined here is fantasy-based, built for a multiplayer strategy setting. The visual style leans toward stylized, mobile-friendly graphics—similar to Clash of Clans—but with a slightly more grounded, serious tone.
Character Screen – Squad Overview:
The first mockup presents a squad overview screen where players can view all unlocked characters. Each character has an individual progress bar that tracks experience gained through battles and missions. Leveling up specific characters unlocks rewards, new abilities, and attribute boosts. The layout focuses on clarity, hierarchy, and a visual rhythm that feels satisfying to navigate on mobile.

Character Detail – Abilities & Attributes:
Tapping a character brings up a detailed overview screen. This mockup currently shows key stats like health, damage, and the character’s unique ability. I’m in the process of expanding this screen to allow full upgrade interaction—letting players unlock or preview upcoming abilities, and spend in-game currency to enhance attributes directly. Once complete, I plan to do a comparison between this initial concept and the refined version to evaluate flow, usability, and visual consistency.

Shop Screen – Coin Packages in 3D:
For the in-game shop, I wanted to move away from generic numeric options and instead design each coin bundle with a distinct visual identity. I created and rendered simple 3D models of coin stacks and chests to represent different pricing tiers. These were then integrated into the UI mockup to create a more tactile, game-like shopping experience. This approach helps reinforce the game’s art direction and adds clarity for users making purchase decisions.

Style & Direction:
Throughout this study, I focused on keeping the style playful but polished—leaning into the fantasy genre with bold iconography, rich colors, and clear interaction cues. I also used this exercise as a way to experiment with blending 2D UI and 3D assets, ensuring visual harmony between both.
